Travel troubles seem to be the norm when it’s a TransAm race weekend at Homestead-Miami. Fortunately there were seats on another delayed flight and we made it!

You can follow live timing on Race Monitor or on the The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli web site www.gotransam.com

Saturday practice sessions in the morning followed by qualifying at 1:30 pm ... working on set-up in practice sessions and had to pull off course on Lap 3 due to a mechanical issue. Went out for qualifying - provisional grid, will start in Row 5. Look for the No. 24 to be moving forward come race time.

Sunday - Race at 11:00 am ... started on outside of Row 5 in P10 and moved through the field to P7 on the opening lap then to P6 on the next lap and by Lap 6 was up into the top-5 battle where we shuffled and shifted. On lap 20 I took P1 and held it until there were 4 laps to go, relinquishing the lead and finishing P2. What a race; the Pirelli tires were great, we struggled with set up throughout the weekend but when it counted the crew at Mike Cope Race Cars prepped the No.24 Heritage Motorsports Ford Mustang to run out front.
