Machavern Triumphs in New Surroundings

Dillon Machavern took to the track this past Labor Day weekend to make his debut at Barber Motorsports Park, and came away with not just encouraging results, but successful ones too. Dillon pedaled his #24 Heritage Motorsports, Panic Motorsports, Ti-Speed Engineering Mazda Miata in four separate races of the event weekend, competing in both the Spec Miata and ITS classes in double South Atlantic Road Racing Championship races, as well as participating in the first ever SEDiv TT at Barber Motorsports Park.

“I had a really great weekend learning another new track.” Dillon said. “Barber Motorsports Park is truly fantastic! The team worked very hard on the set-up all weekend and it paid off with a win in the last of our four races.” Machavern finished P5 in his first SM race of the weekend, and capped Saturday off with a podium spot in 3rd in his ITS race. On Sunday Dillon picked up where he left off by qualifying in P3 for his second SM race of the weekend and finishing again on the podium in 3rd place. He finished the weekend off in style as he won from P3 in his final ITS race.

Coming to a brand new track, and competing against some very stiff competition in every race he ran, Dillon proved that he had what it took to rise to the top at a rapid pace. Not only did he qualify well all weekend, but he also ended the event with a victory in the final race. Results like this continue to build Dillon’s confidence as he grows into an experienced race car driver. If his past few outings are any indication, his future is going to be bright indeed!
